The Helgen Family

The 1,800 acre Helgen Farm has been in the family since 1940, when it was first purchased by Dan’s grandfather.

Dan is a farmer for several reasons, including the enjoyment of being his own boss and being able to work outdoors, but more importantly, the satisfaction of raising a product that people love to eat.  The Helgen’s farming practices include raising corn-fed beef steers, as well as Berkshire pigs.

Dan’s favorite meaty meal is fried pork steaks.
